    Event description

One in every five Australians suffers from mental health and the past two years have not been very kind either. In the world of fashion, though it’s all glitter and glamour, supporting those that are suffering from mental health is more important than ever.

A High Tea event focusing on the work and the community of Mind Your Fashion. Join us as we make an impact and continue to increase the awareness of mental health in the fashion industry.

The Mind Your Fashion High Tea is a fundraising event focusing on building a community and a solution for the ever-growing need for mental health support, especially in the fashion industry. As we grow the charity organisation and the network around us we want to be able to provide this support through a digital application. We are of the understanding that in order to reach the people we support we need to be present in the palm of their hands. Accessibility is key to ensuring support is delivered and in this ever-changing world and at MYF want to be where we need to be in a time of need and what better way to do that than with an app.

    About the Organiser

Mind Your Fashion is a Not-for-Profit organisation raising awareness and supporting those who work in the fashion and creative industries and experience mental illness. For too long mental illness has been ignored in the industry, it’s time to have the courage to talk about it, it’s time to shine a light on it.

Leading the charge is Founder and Director, Jude Kingston. Jude is the voice to bring about a much-needed change in the way how mental illness is managed in the industry and, in doing so, provide support for those who need it most through education, resources and compliance to ensure these changes are for the betterment for all who work within the fashion and creative industries.

Lady Mayoress Nina Schriner, Lady Mayoress of Brisbane and Chair of The Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust

       - Nina is a mother of four, a lawyer and a former special advisor to Australia’s Attorney General.

The extensive understanding of Brisbane and its residents gained from this work has helped Nina take on and evolve the important role played by the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust, which is well known for achieving big outcomes by backing smaller charities. As chair of this respected institution, which has been helping Brisbane’s most vulnerable residents for over half a century, Nina is devoted to ensuring the Trust not only continues supporting grassroots charities but helps enhance Brisbane’s reputation as a friendly and compassionate city that will host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

      Master of Ceremonies

We are elated to announce our Master of Ceremonies, Kim Skubris.

" I have been a broadcast news journalist, mostly with the Seven Network, for 25 years.

During that time, I have reported on some of Australia’s most emotive and divisive stories, natural disasters locally and internationally, and yarns that have touched hearts globally, like the story of Daniel Morcombe which I have had the privilege of telling from day one of his disappearances.

I have worked overseas in the United States of America, Indonesia, Italy and New Zealand covering events including Schapelle Corby’s arrest and trial, the Bali Nine drug arrests, and exclusive reports with Dr Jayant Patel (a.k.a Dr Death), and the Kanimbla Sea King disaster.

I feel honoured to have so many people place their trust in me to tell their stories, and I am grateful to still have a passion for journalism and my career. " - Kim
