Mini Waters returns to Open Studio for another round of intimate serenades and crepes, this time in trio form and with support from the infectious Isobel Caldwell (also in trio form!). All signs point to a beautifully nourishing summer's evening.

Naarm based singer songwriter Mini Waters (of Big Veranda and Millar Jukes) carries his tangy songs of tribute and torment with him from the far south coast of NSW. Reminiscent of some James Taylor or Bon Iver type of sound, his brittle melodies, personal lyrics and gutsy six-string exhalations are designed for pondering.

Isobel Caldwell (she/they) is a Hong Kong born, Naarm based musician who writes intricate, meditative songs exploring love, loss and mental health through a delicate balance of soft, soaring vocals and lilting guitar arrangements. Weaving together reflections and observations on the everyday, Isobel’s songs are a tonic and a much needed warm hug for the ears. Isobel is the kind of musician who wears their heart on their sleeve, exploring the thornier aspects of life in a gentle, insightful way. In 2022, Isobel and her band released their debut album 'Duty Of Care', a tribute to growth in grief and the importance of friendship. Since the release, they have toured up and down the coast and a little bit west, as well as received a People’s Choice Award nomination for the Folk Alliance Australia AFMA’s, finding home in the ears and hearts of listeners near and far."
