- Queer Formal is on the same day as the Mardi Gras Parade - what does this mean for getting to and from the event?
Yes - Queer Formal Sydney will be held on the same day as the Mardi Gras Parade. We expect the city to be busier than usual, particularly in the afternoon and evening, and some roads and transport routes will be impacted. To support young people and families to plan safely and confidently, Minus18 is working closely with the City of Sydney and relevant planning authorities. We will be sharing clear, up-to-date information a few weeks before the event, including: - The best ways to travel to and from the event - Public transport changes and road closures - A detailed drop-off and pick-up guide factoring in parade impacts Queer Formal will also be starting a little earlier this year. We are currently working with the City of Sydney on a safe, designated meeting place for young people to gather before the event begins. More information about this will be shared soon. Our priority is ensuring everyone can arrive and leave safely, smoothly, and with confidence. All transport and access information will be communicated well ahead of time so young people and families can plan their journey in advance.
