Think+DO Tank Foundation and Scribble Books are proud to announce that our MIRROR Mentorship program has received funding by Creative Australia to run again in 2025. MIRROR is a unique program for emerging bilingual writers and illustrators in kids’ literature, providing year-long mentorship with established figures in the field, publishing masterclasses, industry networking opportunities and a $4,000 stipend.

In its first year, MIRROR winners included Afsaneh Khoramshani, Audrey Villafana, and You Mu Amy Ge, who were mentored by artists Aśka, Sher Rill Ng, and Dinalie Dabarera respectively. These extraordinary young women produced singular leporellos and went on to secure agent representation as well as publishing opportunities.

To celebrate the success of our inaugural winners and our new program, we will be holding a launch event at the State Library NSW on September 18th, in the Dixson Room, at 6pm. There will be a panel discussing the future of children's literature, followed by drinks at the Library Bar.

The Mirror Mentorship program has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.

Since 2013, Think+DO Tank Foundation (TDTF) has been working within local communities in low-income parts of South Western and Western Sydney, co-creating artistic projects and social enterprises in which creativity and collaboration are a driving force. At Think+DO Tank Foundation we start from a position of strength. We know our collaborators are among the lowest socio-economic and most marginalised people in Australia today. We know the severe COVID lockdowns in 2021 took their toll. We also know there is an enormous wealth of lived experience, professional and cultural knowledge, languages, faiths and cultures that enrich and inform every project we co-create. We create our programs together because they change lives for the better - and for the long term.
