Victorian local councils hold their elections next month. At a time of increased misinformation and disinformation, just how can voters across a range of Victorian communities get access to accurate and helpful information that supports local democracy? And what role can multicultural media play in helping local voters?
This event features the Victorian Electoral Commissioner, Sven Bluemmel, and a panel of multicultural media identities, moderated by an expert in information integrity.
It’s a not-to-be missed opportunity to highlight the crucial role multicultural media plays in shaping local decision-making.

Ildiko Dauda, SBS Audio Acting Head of Planning and Development; and
Fotis Kapetopolous, secretary, Independent Multicultural Media Australia.
Moderated by Sushi Das, Associate Director of the Information Integrity Hub at RMIT University.
Including an introduction from the Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Vivienne Nguyen AM.
