Malicious chatbots, pseudoscientific influencers, misleading algorithms and hallucinating AIs are everywhere. Misinformation and disinformation are reshaping how people understand health and science. For communication professionals in the health and biomedical sector, the challenge is no longer just getting messages out, but achieving clarity, credibility and cut-through.

Our Keynote

We’re excited to welcome Leigh Sales AM, multi award-winning author and one of the country’s most recognised and respected journalists, to speak about storytelling.

Leigh is the anchor of the ABC’s much-loved Australian Story and presenter of The Assembly. She previously hosted the network’s flagship current affairs program 7.30 and led the ABC’s coverage of major national events including federal elections and budget nights. She has also worked as a foreign correspondent based in Washington DC.

Over her career, Leigh has interviewed every living Australian Prime Minister, along with world leaders and cultural figures ranging from Hillary Clinton and Tony Blair to Paul McCartney and Elton John.

She is the author of five books, including the national bestseller Any Ordinary Day and her latest, Storytellers, exploring the craft of journalism.

Many will also know Leigh as co-host of the wildly popular podcast Chat 10 Looks 3 with Annabel Crabb, where conversations span everything from arts and culture to friendship and grief.

Leigh appears by arrangement with Claxton Speakers International.
