Here's a bit about Misfit Rebel Alliance
Bee: What's with this name? I really like it and curious to know how you got it?
Misfits: Can I tell you a story?...Once upon a time there was a beautiful, singing princess (who also happened to be a bit of a rebel). But the princess' song was sad. Her voice was weak and a little broken. Her heart was weary from life and loss. Along came a handsome guitar playing Prince (who was a bit of a misfit). She saw he was also sad and weary from life and loss. She said "come and play your guitar with me, sad prince, and we shall comfort each other with our music".❤
How would you describe your music ?
There’s no genre or label we can apply. I sing instinctively, intuitively, from a deep authentic place that seems beyond my conscious control. The notes, the vocals, the tunes bring two worlds together: the esoteric and a grounded earthiness. I’m the silver cord connecting both worlds.
How has nature inspired your creative process?
I sing to the ocean, to the earth, with my hands in the soil, it feels very elemental. Nature naturally weaves itself into my songs; I use life’s seasons, cycles and experiences to tell my story. I want our music to crack people open to feel something of their own nature.
How are you evolving as artists?
We’ve only been performing and recording together for a year. Our sound is evolving and honestly I have no idea where/when the next song will emerge. It’s a completely organic process.
How has your health issue informed your music?
25 years ago I thought I may never sing again after chronic throat infections. I’ve worked so hard to recover and now music is healing the deepest layers of myself. Singing together brings us joy, there's a higher purpose.
