Miss Mardy Back Of The Line Debut Single Launch

Come along to Season Three on the 16th of August to celebrate the debut single from newcomers of the Brisbane Scene, Miss Mardy!

Miss Mardy have eclosed into the Brisbane scene the past year intensely with their high energy shows catalysed by their use of post-punk and NYC Garage Rock nostalgia. Miss Mardy signed to local label powerhouse  ‘Anti-Dismal’ with their Debut song Back Of The Line being released on the 9th of August. 

Joining on the night will be local bands Winona and Soma’s Secret.

Miss Mardy: With angst from the 2000’s New York garage rock revival scene and the emphatics of Fontaines D.C & The Belair Lip Bombs, Miss Mardy comprises of Rhythm Guitarist and Lead Vocalist Danny O’Rourke, Lead guitarist Max Hodge and Rhythm Section; Kyle Bedford (Drums) and Tom Doherty (Bass). Since beginning the band in 2021, Miss Mardy has recently signed with Anti-Dismal in preparation for their upcoming debut single in august.

Winona: ‘Winona’ is a new band from Meanjin, crafting atmospheric yet abrasive soundscapes with introspective, reflective lyrics. Currently recording their debut EP and having just booked their first tour, ‘Winona’ expect a year of expansion, aiming to broaden their reach through various performances, including shows and festivals, to further establish their presence in the music landscape.

Soma’s Secret: Soma's Secret are a brand new project based in Brisbane/Meanjin comprised of Sofia Giacoboni (vocals/guitar) and Liam Kenvyn (Bass Guitar), writing and performing atmospheric and stripped back compositions that draw from the duo's wide pool of sonic inspirations. Their songs combine the gritty and the dark with the soft and ethereal, playing to the strengths of the simple guitar/bass/vocals arrangements and creating songs with a vulnerable and emotive core. Despite the absence of a drumkit - Soma's Secret's music is made to move their audience. The secret? It's not a Secret after all, it's transparent and ever clear, listen and you'll find out.
