A Conversation with Missy Mazzoli and Laura Colgate

Missy Mazzoli has been called a “Once-in-a-generation magician of the orchestra” by The New York Times’ Alex Ross, and she joins Boulanger Initiative co-founder Dr. Laura Colgate for a conversation about the journey through composing American operas that led to her first Met Opera commission. Her forthcoming opera Lincoln in the Bardo is based on George Saunders’ acclaimed novel and centered on Abraham Lincoln’s grief following the death of his young son, Willie.
