Mitzvah Day 2025 at Emanuel Synagogue
Event description
Mitzvah Day is an opportunity to put our Jewish values into practice.
On Sunday 23 November, we invite the whole community to a morning dedicated to making a positive difference in our world. You can help us with a donation of time or money. So, even if you can't participate in person, you can still make a meaningful impact by covering the costs of the meals and snack packs we will be preparing by selecting the donation option on the ticket list below. If you're extra generous, you may choose to do both.

On the day, you will have four activities to choose from –
Preparing Fresh Meals - Help us chop, mix, cook, and pack meals for Plates4Mates, an organisation that provides a food service to the homeless community, rough sleepers and anyone else in need of a warm meal.
Packing Snack Packs - Pack healthy treats and write notes for snack packs to be handed out by Plates4Mates.
Gardening - Wear gloves, closed shoes, hats, and sunscreen, and help us clear the back garden of the synagogue, ready for planting our native garden.
Delivering and serving meals (3:30-5.00 pm) - Young Adult volunteers will deliver and serve the meals and distribute snack packs together with Plates4Mates at Royal Prince Alfred Park.
Please register in advance for all the activities you wish to participate in to help us prepare for the day. We look forward to coming together to give back.
