Multi-award-winning performer Michelle Pearson returns to Brands Laira to present her newest music sensation, Mixtape Australia: The songs that shaped the nation! Winner of the Fringe World Perth Music Award and the House of Oz Purse Prize, this brand new show is a celebration of Australia’s hit-makers and the songs that spurred change over the past 60 years.
The music of Australia is vast and varied. It captures the beauty and brutality of the land, the wrongs and ways to make right. Australian artists have always fought for change, creating movements and spotlighting issues ignored by governments past and present.
With powerhouse vocals and an incredible six-piece band this nostalgic homecoming will have you on your feet with classics from Midnight Oil, The Divinyls, INXS, Tina Arena, Cold Chisel and more, while reminiscing about Australia’s musical history and our artists’ guts and determination.
