Description

Regional Development Australia Melbourne and Regional Development Australia Barwon South West, in partnership with Warrnambool City Council, Corangamite Shire, Moyne Shire, Southern Grampians Shire and Glenelg Shire, are delighted to present the Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) Regional Roadshow at the Lighthouse Theatre in Warrnambool.

Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)  refers to ‘a broad spectrum of innovative prefabrication and offsite manufacturing techniques, including modular construction, panelised systems, and additive manufacturing’, as stated in the Victorian Government’s MMC Policy Statement.

The region's housing shortage requires us to explore additional construction approaches that can help increase housing supply, improve delivery timeframes, support housing affordability, and complement, not replace, traditional building approaches.

The MMC Regional Roadshow will showcase the opportunities for MMC in the South West Region, demonstrating the local success stories and busting industry myths, through keynotes presentations, case studies and much more.  The event will connect suppliers and purchasers and highlight the enabling pathways in the South West Region.

The Roadshow offers valuable insights into how modern construction methods can address regional housing and infrastructure challenges, and will bring together a targeted audience including:

  • Local government planners, surveyors and decision-makers

  • Local building and construction industry

  • Investors and developers

  • Financial institutions

  • Training and education institutions

  • Community housing providers

  • Victorian Government agencies
