Moana: The Colour Red live performance
Event description
Part comic book, rock ’n roll, dark fairytale and cowboy saga… The Colour Red melds original music, story-telling, visual art, animation and fashion into a fearless feast of creative expression. It is the creative collaboration of musician, performer and writer Moana Mayatrix and acclaimed artist and designer, Lucas Bowers
A selection of Lucas' 'Colour Red' illustrated prints will be on display and available for purchase, together with a unique 'Colour Red Collection' of garments, designed and handcrafted by Moana and Lucas.
The centrepiece of the installation will be the animated film 'The Colour Red', hand-drawn by Lucas and set to Moana's original murder-ballad 'The Colour Red'. The film will be projected within an intimate, bespoke enclosure created inside PSAS, for an immersive viewing experience.
Saturday 9 July (Doors open at 7pm) will feature a specially choreographed performance by burlesque artist ESSIE FOXGLOVE, and elemental drone duo FILTH GODDESS, in addition to an intimate performance by WAM nominated art-rock band MOANA, whose cello-laden ballads, and atmospheric soundscapes will provide the accompaniment for Moana's powerful voice as she conjures The Colour Red's heroine - a badass spiritual assassin.
