Modern Pentathlon Victoria - 2025 State Championship and Multisport Festival

MODERN PENTATHLON - VICTORIA Inc. invites athletes to participate in the:

Victorian Modern Pentathlon Championships & Multisport Festival - Ballarat

Saturday 15th February 2025

Venues:

Ballarat Grammar School    201 Forest Street, Wendouree, Ballarat.

• - Fencing      Games Gym
• - Laser Run      Turnbridge Oval                 

Ballarat Ninjas                                1/15 Endeavour Way, Alfredton, Ballarat.

• - Obstacles

Ballarat Pony Club                         Winter Street and Cedar Drive, Ballarat.

• - Equestrian    Show Jumping Arena

BBQ at the pony club grounds following the ride.

Depending on ENTRY numbers, the schedule including presentation times will be provided closer to the event.

Calculating age for events:

The age will be counted by subtracting the year of birth from the year of competition.

Months & days are not taken into account.

i.e. birth year 2011. 2025 – 2011 = 14 Competition Category – Under 15

Fencing:

U11, U13 & U15 competitors fencing is optional.

‘Novice’ fencing poule available for athletes to gain experience. Results of Novice poule will NOT be counted towards their overall MP points.

# Main Poule

Equestrian:

• Victorian Competitors are expected to bring their own horse and will NOT be penalised for doing so.
• Competitors will incur 30 penalty points for each 10cm, their jump height is below the set height is, for their nominated age group.
• Riders must have a compulsory EA approved and tagged helmet whilst mounted. (Yellow tagged)

Riding Heights:

• 1.00m & 1.10m must have MPA riding licence to compete at this height.
• Lower heights must have the relevant PC grading or evidence of competency for their riding height. Upload with Entry

Pool horses:

• A limited number of pool horses will be available for interstate riders with an approved Riders License.
•  Horses will be allocated by the Organising committee.

Obstacles

• May vary from the current UIPM rules

Events & Costs ($AUD):

Enter one competition per athlete

• Introduction to laser pistol shooting and practice – equipment provided
• Competition instruction
• Suitable for ages 10+

Membership - Insurance

• Competitors need to be current financial Modern Pentathlon members or,
• Day Membership $15 is available, though can only be used once during the MPV financial year.

Membership is required unless you can prove personal Insurance Liability Cover of at least $10,000,000. (Must produce proof)

• MPV reduced membership for New members is still available and will cover all MP events and designated MPV training sessions up until 31st March ’25 (this includes MPA State Laser Run Championships)

General Information:

1. More event information will be sent to entrants following close of entries

2. Late entries will only be considered if space permits

3. There will be limited food facilities available at the venues, we encourage you to bring your own food and refreshments.

4. Pony Club Victoria State Tetrathlon event will be on Sunday 16th Feb at the Ballarat Pony Club grounds. Come for the weekend and make the most of both events - camping facilities and yards available

5. Athletes eligible for selection for the Australian National team must have complied with the ASADA Drug testing program that required all intending representatives to be available for competition and out of competition testing for the last twelve months

Volunteers:

For the successful running of this event, we ask all families/friends to assist. This may include timekeeping, marshalling, directing or officiating. Briefing will be provided to all volunteers prior to commencement of each phase. If you or any of your group have a specific skill or area that you love to be part of, please indicate during the checkout questions.

We are looking forward to catching up with all our Pentathlon families from across the state and welcome all those new to this sport and of course our interstate athletes who regularly support our events.
