A Modern Slavery Bill has now been introduced to New Zealand Parliament, signalling a shift toward enforceable expectations on how organisations understand, govern and respond to modern slavery risk.

If passed as signalled, reporting for entities with revenue over $100M could begin as early as mid-2028.

For many organisations, the immediate challenge is not compliance.

It is determining what this means for your business, and what to do next.

This session is designed to support that first step.

Why Attend?

This workshop focuses on the key decisions organisations need to make early:

What does the proposed Bill mean in practice for your organisation?

Where is modern slavery risk most likely to sit across your operations and supply chains?

How would your current systems surface a serious issue if one existed?

What early investments can you make now to strengthen governance and risk oversight, even before requirements are finalised?

You will leave with a clearer view of:

Your organisation’s likely risk exposure profile

A practical lens on system health (governance, procurement, escalation)

Understanding of how other organisations have started their journeys in modern slavery risk governance

Where do go for more information and practical resources

A set of priority actions that can be progressed now with confidence
