Overview

Our Modern Slavery Online Workshop provides leading telcos with a solid understanding of the issue of modern slavery, and develop their capabilities to meet the Modern Slavery Act reporting requirements.

This Online Workshop, delivered in partnership with KPMG, will provide Members with unique expert insights into the issue and provide a platform to share insights with industry peers. The workshop will be delivered through a series of six online webinars, between 23rd June & 1st September.

Who is this designed for?

The training is designed for leaders within risk, procurement of goods and services, sustainability or legal functions, as well as individuals looking to develop their understanding of supply chain risk assessment, organisational governance and strategy.

Learning Outcomes

Gain a solid understanding of modern slavery and its manifestations in global supply chains;
Understand the Modern Slavery Act reporting requirement and what it means for their organisation;
Understand how to roll-out strategies to meet the Act’s requirements, including conducting risk assessment, rolling out grievance mechanisms and engaging with their supply chain; and
Have a clear action plan to take back to their organisation to prepare for the reporting requirement.

Workshop 1: Introduction
Wednesday 23rd June, 10am – 12.30pm (2.5 hours)

Participants will gain a solid and foundational understanding of modern slavery, the reporting requirements of the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act, and the challenges and opportunities that the reporting requirements represent for telecommunications organisations, their operations and supply chains.

Workshop 2: Sustainable Procurement Workshop
Wednesday 7th July, 10am – 11.30am (1.5 hours)

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainable procurement, the role it plays in addressing modern slavery issues in an organisation’s supply chains, and how it can be applied in practice.

Workshop 3: Modern Slavery Gap Analysis Workshop
Wednesday 21st July, 10am – 11.30am (1.5 hours)

Participants will learn about key drivers to drive effective modern slavery change within their organisation and gain a foundational understanding of the core elements of a modern slavery risk management response.

Workshop 4: Modern Slavery Risk Assessment Workshop
Wednesday 4th August, 10am – 11.30am (1.5 hours)

Participants will learn about modern slavery supply chain risk assessments, and how to successfully identify modern slavery risks.

Workshop 5: Grievance Mechanisms, Worker Engagement & Remediation Workshop
Wednesday 18th August, 10am – 11.30am (1.5 hours)

Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the key objectives and
required features of grievance and remediation mechanisms, key considerations and practical examples to take back to their organisations.

Workshop 6: Collaboration Opportunities Workshop
Wednesday 1st September, 10am – 12.30pm (2.5 hours)

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about examples of industry-wide collaboration models on modern slavery and their benefits.
The workshop will provide a platform for participants to discuss how collaboration within the telecommunications sector could improve
the outcomes of existing initiatives.
