FHA Member Site Tour: Homes NSW Secondary Dwelling Pilot Program

Faith Housing Australia is hosting an exclusive member-only site tour in the Illawarra region of a modular home delivered through the NSW Government’s Secondary Dwelling Pilot Program.

During the visit, representatives from Homes NSW and Moov Modular will provide an overview of the program and discuss how the homes were designed, manufactured and delivered using modular construction.

The home featured in this tour is one of ten secondary dwellings delivered across the Lake Macquarie and Lake Illawarra regions. The program explores how smaller, well-designed homes on existing government-owned land can increase social housing supply while freeing up larger homes for families who need them most.

All homes were constructed offsite at Moov Modular’s Central Coast and Hunter Valley manufacturing facilities before being transported and installed onsite. The home included in this tour was delivered in approximately 7–8 weeks from construction through to final completion, including offsite manufacturing, preliminary site works, module installation and finishing works.

Designed in accordance with NSW Government standards, the homes include low-maintenance features and high-quality finishes, with many achieving Gold Liveability Standards to support accessibility and ageing in place.

This site tour provides FHA and Shelter NSW members with the opportunity to see firsthand how Modern Methods of Construction are being used to accelerate the delivery of high-quality social housing across NSW.
