Spazzatura is the unfiltered archive of a year at Moka Studio.

Founded by Rossella, a multidisciplinary artist working across textiles, 3D and digital media, and Andrea, a graphic designer and illustrator, Moka Studio has its roots in gritty Torino, Italy, where they both grew up.

Taking its name from the Italian word spazzatura, the exhibition gives new meaning to what is usually left behind. Here, spazzatura is not rubbish, but an unfiltered archive: photographs, drawings, sketches, comics, digital works, posters and objects gathered over the course of a year. Some works appear in their original form. Others survive as photographs, scans or printed traces. None of them are treated as leftovers. Together, they reflect a practice that moves freely between different materials and disciplines. Nothing in this exhibition follows a hierarchy. Finished works sit beside unfinished ones.

More than a retrospective, Spazzatura offers a glimpse into the way Moka Studio creates, documents and collects. It invites visitors into an archive where ideas take many forms and the things worth keeping aren't always the obvious ones, revealing a creative practice that continues to grow, shift and evolve.
