8 week yoga course: Mondays 6:30pm-8pm : 6 Feb 2023- 27 Mar 2023

A long session 90min class that balances asana (the postures), pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation. The following props are provided for you - Mats, Bolsters, blocks, cushions, sandbags, eyepillows, blankets. All meditation tools required for class including tratak stand, japa mala beads & meditation stools. Harmonium for any chanting meditations

Prerequisites: To book for this course, ANY of the following criteria must be met. This ensures our new and regular term students receive the best experience possible. 

  • Past or present student of The Yoga Shed with knowledge of our version of Sun Salutes & nadi shodhana
  • Completed the Jan 2023 New Student course
  • Completed Private 1 hr New Student Pre-Term assessment

About the Class

Asanas or postures will be included that help you to develop strength, flexibility and balance all of the major systems it they body including digestive, reproductive, respiratory, endocrine and nervous system. You'll also benefit from an aerobic element to the class with our signature 7 rounds of sun salutes practice to the beat of the djembe drum. You'll also learn and practice the more subtle aspects of yoga in the form of pranayama (breath work) and meditation.  

Activate prana, balance it and then focus it.

This is a course with an educational component. You'll discover the benefits of each yoga practice and how to practically apply the techniques of yoga to daily life. In addition, each term a different type of meditation will be explored in depth along with theory of meditation and proper technique.

The Yoga Shed is a studio unlike any other and we provide more than a yoga class. We provide a unique yoga EXPERIENCE. We have a huge selection of singing bowls and sound instruments that take your yoga to a whole other level. We also provide ALL props including mats, blankets, cushions, eye pillows, blocks, straps, mattresses, meditation stools and MORE. We also provide a retreat style location. Our studio is nestled amongst permaculture & native gardens with mountain views. And last but not least - we provide EXPERIENCED, QUALITY teaching that takes you to an understanding of yoga that is way beyond asana. We also take an interest in you and YOUR yoga journey. We take the time to get to know our students and support them on their evolutionary journey through yoga. This is something that you can't get from gym yoga or global online yoga. Our students value setting, quality teaching, and have a pro-active approach to self- development.
