Description

At the intersection of technological disruption, economic opportunity and social and political change, Australia's energy transition stands as the most complex yet promising business transformation of our generation. This represents the greatest transfer of capital ever experienced in any industrial revolution.

At our 2025 Monash MBA Alumni Lifelong Learning Day, technology, economics and policy experts from academia and business will provide a series of presentations, case studies and panel discussions to explain the primary issues that will put this exceptional phenomenon in context.

How are energy technologies evolving? What public and private sector investments are required? How will new markets be structured and regulated? What are the implications for families, communities and industries? What are the risks and opportunities for professional careers and the future of work? These are some of the questions addressed by our presenters and panellists.

Among our presenters and panellists are:

  • Sami Mäkeläinen, Chair & Facilitator, Consultant, Founder Transition Level
  • Rachel Watson, Incoming CEO Hydro Tasmania, formerly Chair Clean Energy Council
  • Associate Professor Roger Dargaville, Renewable Energy researcher, Monash University
  • Anna Collyer, Chair Australian Energy Market Commission
  • Sharan Burrow, formerly President ACTU, formerly General Secretary ITUC
  • Ian de Cruz, Global leader and activist in sustainability and climate change; and
  • Shreejan Pandey, Director Monash Energy Institute
