Classroom Management the Montessori Way

Creating calm, purposeful environments where children and educators can thrive

Meet your presenter

Susan Chahwan

A well-managed Montessori classroom is not simply a place where children follow instructions.

It is a carefully prepared environment where children develop independence, self-discipline, respect and a genuine sense of belonging.

In this practical webinar, Susan Chahwan will explore how Montessori principles can strengthen classroom management and create a calm, purposeful environment in which both children and educators can thrive.

Independence Through Preparation

Explore how the prepared environment supports children to make purposeful choices, manage their own activity and take increasing responsibility for their learning.

Self-Discipline, Not Compliance

Consider how clear limits, meaningful work and consistent guidance help children develop internal discipline rather than relying on adult control.

Respectful Relationships

Strengthen the relationships, routines and Grace and Courtesy practices that help children feel secure, respected and connected to their community.

A Calm and Purposeful Classroom

Discover practical ways to reduce unnecessary disruption, support concentration and establish a classroom culture in which children and adults can thrive.

Effective Montessori classroom management is not about controlling children. It is about preparing the conditions that allow independence, concentration, respect and belonging to emerge.
