Monthly Men's Yoga
Description
This monthly class is designed specifically for men in their 50s and 60s, and those in their 40s who feel like they’re 60, who want to move better, breathe better, and feel more at ease in their bodies (note: we don't check ID at the door). Led by someone in the same life stage, the sessions focus on restoring functional movement and building healthier breath patterns — which can help reduce snoring, support mental wellbeing, and may even contribute to improved sexual function. It’s a relaxed, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace alongside other blokes. After class, we’ll wander/drive to a local café for a coffee and a yarn, creating space for connection, conversation, and community.

My name is Steve, I'm 55 this year, and I have been practicing yoga for many years. My Dad trained as a teacher in the Satyananda yoga tradition and first introduced me to the practice in 1992. My small group and private yoga classes in Sandgate and Brighton are focused on slow movements, connecting to the breath. I teach simple asana, pranayama, and meditation suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike.
I have completed 750 hours of teacher training, including advanced training in yoga for trauma and mental health. I am fully insured and first-aid trained and have been teaching yoga, meditation and breathwork classes in Sandgate and Brighton since 2018.
