Cone of Confusion embarks on a stripped-back and spontaneous sonic exploration with Moon Dust (Unplugged).

Cone of Confusion is an intercultural Eora/Sydney-based project known for their eclectic blend of psychedelic music, prog rock, and jazz fusion. With a commitment to musical exploration and creative spontaneity, the band continues to push the boundaries of their sonic expression, captivating audiences with raw energy and authentic performances.

Cone of Confusion proudly unveils an acoustic version of their latest composition, "Moon Dust". Recorded live at Studios 301 in Eora/Sydney, Australia, on December 30, 2023, this acoustic rendition offers a stripped-back arrangement of the original composition and captures the essence of their musical camaraderie setting a new and exciting sonic direction for the band.  "Moon Dust (Unplugged)” invites audiences to experience Cone of Confusion in a new light. With clean arrangements and organic instrumentation, this interpretation offers a fresh perspective and gives a hint on the band's new musical vision. Following the release a launch show will be held on 26 April. An alternative version of the piece will be released later in the year, in its “full” format.

Composed by Jack Garzonio and Cone of Confusion, "Moon Dust (Unplugged)" features Jack Garzonio on piano instead of his usual set of synthesizers, organ and synth bass. Rémi Marchand (guitar) and Chris Blundell (tenor saxophone) refrained themselves from their characteristic use of effect pedals to let the structure and composition of this work shine in its purest form. Juan Carlos Negrete Lopez approached drums with a gentle and soothing touch of brushes. The artwork for "Moon Dust" was meticulously crafted by Rémi Marchand, adding visual depth to the auditory journey that awaits listeners.
