Moon Mother Moon Daughter
Event description
As a mother, imagine looking forward to your daughters’ first steps into womanhood with the same anticipation and excitement as you had for her very first steps toward walking? What if there was a whole community of women waiting to receive her into womanhood? What if there was a way for mothers and daughters to walk towards this initiation together, feeling confident and prepared?
With the moon as a guide and a symbol, Moon Mother, Moon Daughter introduces a whole new approach to the coming-of-age years; a time to strengthen the mother-daughter connection with the support of community, as we celebrate feminine gifts and wisdom.
Together we will explore the key coming of age concepts and divine feminine qualities (i.e. intuition, creativity, dreaming) through story, song, ceremony and craft.
This is an 8-week program exploring different aspects of becoming a woman with each week introducing a new topic and accompanying activities. A unique opportunity to gather together as mothers; collectively, and intentionally, journeying with our daughters into their moontime and menarche. Suited to young women aged 11-14yrs and their mother or female carer.
