Moontide Ensemble @ Shotkickers
Event description
Moontide returns to his much-loved Melbourne this Spring with a new live show as the Ensemble. In celebration of their recent live record, the band will be bringing a collection of new material before the summer tour kicks off.
“ENSEMBLE” is the first live album from the band that showcases their impish and emotive psychedelic sound. The album, which is largely improvised, was captured across several shows over the summer and heavily influenced by the previous works of Moontide. Playing with the tension between light and dark, the band worked with spoken word pieces throughout the live shows to bridge these contrasting dialogues, and in turn, create a series of unique experiences for their audiences.
In the new live show, the ever-evolving sound of Moontide takes on a new life form after recent solo tours of South America and Europe. Road-testing new music for his upcoming album, the fusion of the four souls together breathes new energy into these compositions, promising a memorable live performance.
Joining the band to support on the evening is MOOD SPILL, a collective of incredibly talented musicians based in Naarm.
Evoking feelings of honesty, familiarity, and vulnerability in their music, Mood Spill possesses a distinct style and irrefutable sincerity. Forming in 2022 at a spur of the moment jam session in an old factory in Melbourne’s inner north, Mood Spill is composed of Tom Riccioni, Adrian Verna, Bailey Brown, Georgia-Grace Buckingham and Oli Morley-Sattler. Their songs are meticulously crafted yet flowing and breathing like rivers and trees; the band’s dynamic and cathartic live performances have left audiences from Melbourne to the Blue Mountains buzzing with emotion; their mercurial live sets awash with lush vocal harmonies, emotive songwriting, and confident yet understated musicianship.
