This New Year's Eve, join us as we venture downtown to Electric for the second instalment of DUSK.
As the sun begins its last descent of 2022, a selection of trailblazing artists and collectives from near and far will guide us into the new year as we mean to go on, soaked in a sonic sphere of future jazz and soul. Over twelve jam-packed hours, DUSK will showcase a multidimensional menagerie of underground artists and collectives to inspire and incite new ways of thinking, being, connecting and experiencing.
To guide us through the year's last golden hours and into DUSK are the honey-dipped, nostalgic soul sounds of Lani Zimmer, opening hearts and elevating spirits for the magic and mayhem to come. Next up, Special Feelings will grace the stage with their version of apocalyptic jazz, stoner style. And as the moon rises and the night sets in, a selection of heavy hitters pioneering the instrumental dance music movement will take the stage. Here, the saxophone-led spiritual jazz sounds of JK GROUP and the world-renowned composition of London-based drummer and producer Myele Manzanza (LDN) will take things up a notch, getting us revved and ready for the final countdown. With midnight nearing, the lord of jazzy house himself, Horatio Luna, will perform a filthy 90-minute set to see us to the other side. And finally, as the glow of DUSK turns to dawn, Goodmood (LDN) will take us to the finish line, exploring the in-between of house, broken beat and jazz as the new day rises.
Throughout the evening, a curated collection of seasoned selectors, from Energy Exchange DJs (Ziggy Zeitgeist, Lewis Moody), Poli Pearl and Teymori to Savage The Girl and Hed Chef, will pay homage to the entire spectrum of dance music in-between live sets, with a fine-tuned focus on soul, funk, house, jazz and disco.
It's Electric, but not how you know it. It's an eye-opening exploration of new neural territories. It's all-encompassing and extraterrestrial. It's designed to inspire, challenge, and encourage new perspectives. It's our ticket to the future and how we intend to exist within it. Will you join us?
