Calgary Respite House describes its purpose as “A short-stay, home-like place for support during suicidal crisis.”

It offers voluntary stays of three to five nights for adults experiencing a suicidal crisis, with mental health and peer support available around the clock. Guests receive support with safety planning, recovery planning and finding resources for their return home.

The house is operated by Cympact: A Community Impact Foundation, with support from the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division and Centre for Suicide Prevention.
