    Event description

Hold on to your party pants and fasten those fiesta frocks because we’re * closing a road * for the Morning People Street Party in Ōtautahi - and it’s FREE!

If dancing in the middle of a road at dawn wasn’t enough to get your party bells jingling, the morning features the one and only Sin, direct from Tāmaki Makaurau, for one show only.

Co-host of George FM Drive, Sin is totally plugged into the New Zealand dance music scene. She’s appeared on the biggest festival lineups in Aotearoa including Rhythm & Vines, Homegrown, Hidden Valley and Hidden Lakes, and she’s supported the biggest names in dance music, including Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada and Netsky. With the dancefloor always in mind, expect high NRG house and disco, ravey goodness, curveballs and pure chaos.

In usual Morning People fashion, dance-floor-tarmac heat will be served alongside complimentary Altezano Brothers coffee, All Good bananas and kombucha thanks to the lovelies at Karma.

As ever, Morning People Ōtautahi is supported by the white knights of the music scene, RDU 98.5FM.

A massive Morning People thank you to Christchurch City Council for sponsoring the event! Christchurch City Council are trailing changes to make Gloucester Street more people friendly through the Meet Me on Gloucester trial. Find out more at

After the event, the Council will be sending out a short survey about the street trial, so you can let them know what you think.

This is an all ages event, under 16s must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

This is a FREE ticketed event - nab a ticket now before it sells out!

Please note, tickets are limited to one per order - please complete the ticket registration for each ticket you need.

    Alcohol free, dress to sweat.
