Mornington 150th Anniversary
Description
Be with us as we celebrate 150 years of Methodism in Mornington!
In 1876 a wooden Methodist church was built for the burgeoning suburb for Mornington, the Rev Alfred Robertson Fitchett presiding. Today, 150 years later, the congregation meets in an airy and spacious church close to this original site. It's time to celebrate 150 years of music, ministry and fellowship in Mornington.
Mornington Methodist has long been known for exceptional music, which we will honour with a concert featuring talent from within the congregation and outstanding local musicians. We will remember ministers, past and present, at a gala dinner, and all are welcome to attend a Sunday morning service with current presbyter Adam Baker presiding and a sermon by Dr. Te Aroha Rountree, President of The Methodist Church of New Zealand, Te Hāhi Weteriana o Aotearoa.
