THE CHEF:
"My name is Gohar Khachatryan. I was born In Armenia. I have been in Australia, in Adelaide for 12 years. I am a physicist and used to work as a manager in the education system in Armenia. From my school ages I liked baking. Moving to Australia, I decided to try to delve deeper into my interest of baking. Now I am striving to grow my small food business mainly involving baking. So far it has evolved through word of mouth." Gohar is excited to share the joys of Armenian cooking with the South Australian community and invites you to join us!

THE DISHES:
Armenian cuisine has a rich history going back thousands of years. One of the most iconic Armenian dishes that has been passed down to us from the depths of the centuries and generation to generation is 'khokhob'. The main ingredient of this dish was poultry, the meat of the “khokhob”. Khokhob is a type of bird, a pheasant. Now, khokhob is one of the most traditional dishes in Armenian cuisine. This dish is widespread mainly in the South and Southeast of Armenia. The recipe has changed over time and in more modern times it is now prepared using chicken, duck, turkey and even lamb.
