Hi everyone hope you are as excited as I am to begin our class.

Just thought I would send a quick introduction, so you know what to expect.

In the workshop there will be 8 of us, this is a five hour 9:30 to 2:30 - workshop we will be working to complete either an A4 sized picture/house number or a decorated heart shape.

You’ll learn the skills required to complete your mosaic project, so you can continue creating mosaics at home. You’ll learn about which tiles to use, where to get them, preparing and securing the tiles in place followed by grouting and cleaning techniques.

Everything will be provided except.

What you’ll get:

Enough materials to complete your project this includes tiles/plates etc.
A4 sized ceramic sheet with hanger or A4 heart.
glue and grout.
Use of tools and guidance in a group environment
Inspiration and ideas for other mosaic projects you could try at home.

What to bring:

Apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
An A4 picture or an idea of what you would like to create.
An old towel that you no longer need – this is used to carry your wet artwork home.
Face mask (used when working with cement based adhesive and grout and safety glasses used when smashing tiles)
Your sense of humour and willingness to work with others.

Please note we will grout on the day, if your project is not completed you will be provided with instructions and grout to enable you to finish your piece at home.

5 hours is not a long time to create a mosaic from start to finish we will not stop but there are kitchen facilities for tea/coffee or if you would like to bring your lunch,
