Event description

🌱 🌳 🌱 🌳 🌱 🌳 🌱 🌳

Forget your tame brunch plans. Celebrate your mother figures and your other mother (mother nature) this Mother’s Day with a special outdoor concert to support the planting of 30,000 seedlings in August 2024.

You will hear from talented musicians and storytellers in the beautiful location of Perth City Farm community garden, sharing their craft and celebrating the loving, nurturing force of our mother earth. Other highlights of the event will be delicious home-made finger food, a bar serving delightful tipples from local sponsors, some kids activities, and a raffle of eco-conscious prizes.

Perth City Farm is a hub of sustainability education; we are proud to say that Activate grew out of PCF over 20 years ago and are grateful to have the use of the garden for our venue, which has been so lovingly created and tended.

* If you can't attend but want to support, you can make a donation! (click 'Get tickets')

* Exciting! You can register for an earlybird festival ticket if you attend the fundraiser.

Keep up to date by following Activate Saplings on Facebook.

🌱 What is Activate Saplings?

Activate Saplings is the youth division of Activate Tree Planting – we focus on empowering young people to take environmental action, use and develop their skills for a better future, and create community wherever they are in life. We do this by creating tree-planting festivals of fun! 2024 is our third festival. We will plant 30,000 seedlings on farmland in Nomans Lake, WA.

🌱 Where will the funds go?

All funds raised will support the Activate Saplings tree-planting festival in August 2024, which is entirely volunteer-run. Trees and planting equipment have been provided through partnership with Carbon Positive and Trillion Trees Australia. Funds raised at the Mother Nurture event will pay for food, logistics and transport costs, and other festival equipment; as well as lowering the access barrier for young and/or disadvantaged people to attend our event through lower ticket prices.

🌱 Other important information:

Safety: Given the outdoor, garden-y nature of the venue, there are uneven surfaces to contend with. Take care when walking around.

Access: One ACROD bay is available on City Farm Place, and two in the Royal Street carpark. There is one accessible toilet.
As a working Farm, there are uneven surfaces around the site. The garden area is mostly mulched, with a crushed brick path through to help wheels move through. We want you there. Please reach out if you have access needs: saplings@activatetreeplanting.org.au

Children: This is a family-friendly event! While there'll be activities for kiddies, you are responsible for their supervision always.

Photos will be taken at the event and shared on social media. If you do not want your photo taken or shared, please let us know at the door.

Location/Parking: Walk through the Perth City Farm gates to find the Community Garden.
Parking is available on Royal St Carpark - public transport is a good option with train and bus right at the doorstep.
