Mother's Day Edible Flowers Garden Tour, Class and Afternoon Tea
Event description
Wondering about what you can give mum for Mother's Day? Or perhaps you'd just love a beautiful afternoon out for yourself?
An Edible Flowers Garden Tour and Afternoon Tea is a perfect way to indulge in flowers, Garden, food and for Mother's Day, a short class on Growing Edible Flowers from seed and cutting. You'll take some of these home to start your own little patch too!
Come dressed in Mother's Day florals and wear a big hat to get in the mood for a garden party atmosphere.
An edible flowers garden tour and afternoon tea is a lovely afternoon celebrating beautiful blooms. But beware, you may well go home wanting to grow a whole garden or balcony full of edible flowers.
We begin the afternoon with a little spritzer of flower-flavoured fizzy (non- alcoholic but delicious), made by Linda, from seasonal garden blooms and herbs. You'll be tempted by a little floral canape to go with your fizz as we get enthused for what's to come.
You'll take a tour of our organic garden that's a colourful and fragrant oasis, learning what and where to grow edible flowers. We'll talk about sowing from seed, harvest, fertilisation and the varieties that do really well in and around Brisbane. You may be surprised at how many of your garden flowers are edible, but Linda will also tell you about some that must be avoided.
Our tour is followed by a light afternoon tea with our mums/friends/family at the tables under the trees. You'll sip herbal teas made from fresh garden herbs and flowers. The tables are set with white cloths and lovely old china and beautiful teapots. (We can accommodate vegan, gluten free or dairy free if needed and everything is vegetarian. Just make a note of it on your booking.)
After we are full and happy, we'll gather for a class on how to grow edible flowers from seed or cutting. You'll take home your samples, so please remember to bring an ice-cream container or shoe box with you as you'll be taking your plants home with you.
Each ticket holder receives a copy of Linda's book 'A Delicious Bunch, growing and cooking with edible flowers'.
And there will be organic honey, garden products and possibly even plants to purchase on the day.
And of course if you are sick or think you may have been in contact with anyone who is COVID sick, please let me know well in advance so someone else can fill your spot.
If Covid gets in the way, your ticket is fully refundable
