About the poets:
Deconstructing a Lullaby By Lakshmi Kanchi
What is a lullaby, if not a soul-stirring melody woven from timeless myths and lore? SoulReserve presents a masterful long-form piece exploring the mother-child bond. Woven with lullabies from around the world and verses in multiple languages, her work delves into the soothing essence of lullabies, uncovering their comforting nature and the myths that envelop them. This meticulously crafted piece is an all-encompassing, hypnotic poetic experience that will lull you to sleep and/or awaken your senses.

The Motherhood Collective

Featuring Asha Rajan, Natalie Damjanovich-Napoleon, Melissa Domiati, Carly Blenkhorn and Miriam Wei Wei Lo.

The Motherhood Collective Performs "Poems From The Nest" exploring the challenges and triumphs of motherhood. Five diverse poets will take you on a journey through motherhood: from foster mums and rainbow babies, second languages and loss, teenage children and empty nests. Expect a rollercoaster of emotions from joy to anguish, laughter to tears. This is poetry as performance. Expect poetry performed with verve. Expect a little bit of baby spit up and a lot of sunshine.

You will may never look at mothers the same way again!

About the musician:

From the Gascoyne Region, emerging singer songwriter and guitarist Takira Bassett brings the well-loved, indie-folk, country and Australian new wave cover songs to local venues in Perth. Inspired by a childhood surrounded by music and live performance she aims to get a crowd engaged and entertained whether it’s being on their feet or feeling serene. Young and new to the gig scene, she is open to a variety of performing opportunities.
