Mothering During a Genocide will be a gathering of mothers and parents as well as perinatal practitioners who support people during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenthood.
We wish to provide a forum where the voices and experiences of Palestinian mothers can be heard, and the impact upon their maternal mental health can be realised to foster advocacy and action in our communities.
We will also hear from an aboriginal Australian mother about the long term, intergenerational effects of genocide, particularly relevant to those living in the land that has been colonised as Australia.
This event is organised by:
- Perth Mums For Palestine
- The Centre of Bright Beginnings
Supported by:
- Muslim Women Support Centre WA
- Friends of Palestine WA
- Healthcare Workers for Palestine WA
- Perth Doctors For Palestine
All proceeds will be donated to the Al Shifa Project — a collaborative initiative between nonprofit organizations and mental health practitioners in Australia, dedicated to providing support and resources to individuals and communities affected by the genocide in Palestine
Palestinian Finger food will be provided!
