Accessing Altered States: Guided Psychedelic-Inspired Breathwork & Sound Journey

Life Changing altered states have typically been confined to near-death experiences, ingesting psychedelic plant medicines or spontaneous satori moments.

However, we now know enough scientifically about what goes on within our brains to replicate these psychedelic states without the use of psychedelic drugs.

We want to offer you the opportunity to go beyond the mundane and experience an altered state of consciousness first hand, using your organic human technology.

The combination of guided breathing exercises, incredible live music and the lion's mane mushroom will be used to take you deeper into yourself; to expand your mind, open your heart and reconnect with your true power.

It's these awakening moments that have shifted the evolutionary trajectory of humanity. Now, at this crucial junction, it is time to revitalize this exploration.

Your Hosts

Master breathwork instructor Gene Kelly will offer you the brain science and chemical understanding of the processes going on within your mind.

Musical extraordinaire Joshua Tree will provide the soundscape that will guide you into the empowered state of the mystic where you will develop a deeper connection to your expanded self.

Together, using guided breath work, lion's mane and live music, you will be invited to open into a psychedelic inner experience.

Special Guest Musician WHAIA The Sonic Weaver!

WHAIA The Sonic Weaver is a vocalist and ceremonial Māori artist whose work lives at the intersection of sound, culture, and embodied healing.

Her work welcomes all into a shared field of listening, where each person is invited to reconnect with their own inner voice, their own tide, and the quiet intelligence that lives within.

From this place, she calls forward the essence of motherhood and matriarchal wisdom, honouring the deep currents that guide us to one another and to the living world.

As a mother of three, she embodies the living current of creation and nurture, bringing a grounded yet expansive presence into every space she holds.

Through Taonga Pūoro, crystal singing bowls, sacred sonics, vocal activation, and intuitive sound, she creates immersive soundscapes that invite restoration, connection, and a return to the shared waters within and around us.

A Breathwork & Sound Journey Unlike Anything You Have Experienced Before

This Mother's Day, we invite you to join us to celebrate the Great Mother Principle with a specially curated experience featuring powerhouse music and vocals from long-time friend of Altered States WHAIA.

Joshua Tree and WHAIA share a natural weaving of feminine and masculine energies in balance and support of one another.

Their connection has been nurtured through trust, presence, and deep listening, resulting in a sound that is intuitive and alive.

Together, with expert guidance from true master breathwork facilitator Gene Kelly, they open a space where something truly special can be felt.

The Mushroom

The lion's mane mushroom has been used by the monks of China for thousands of years to optimize their concentration and brain power during meditation.

While perfectly legal and not psychoactive, modern science has shown that this mushroom reliably supercharges brain function.

At the Altered States Experience, it will be used to take this unique combination of breathwork and live music to the next level to create a truly profound experience!

NOTE: This is a drug and alcohol free event.
