Mums of the Hills BIG Clothes, Books & Toys Fundraising Swap

This is our promised BIG swap. Bigger than our normal swaps to include clothes, toys and books, and all for good cause. So, give your wardrobe a freshen up, meet other mums, help keep MOTHs running.

• Time: 4pm-6pm

Mums of the Hills needs your help to keep running our hub, events, programs and advocacy that aim to reduce the factors that create isolation in our area. To do this, we're raising funds through our BIG Swap.

They say that we only use 20% of the clothes in our wardrobe, 80% of the time. That’s a whole lot of clothes that aren’t getting a lot of love. So get a group of friends together a come along to this fantastic staple on the MotHs Events calendar.

You wanted a bigger venue. You got it! This time, we’re at the biggest community hall in the hills. We have to pay for the venue, so we’ve needed to add ticket price but it’s small compared to the savings you’ll make.

How it works

• Bring your items (books, clothes and toys) to Olinda Community House on the day or drop items off Monday -Thursday (until 12 noon)

• No minimum or maximum number of items chosen

• Make sure you bring a bag and swap away!

• We’ll have a change area available to try on items

• At the end of the event if your items haven’t been taken you are welcome to take them home.

• Any items still remaining will be boxed up and donated to the Red Nose Foundation.

What to bring & items not included

• a bag for your chosen items

• a few clothes hangers for the racks.

• this is a womenswear event (may expand to kids if enough people tell me they want it).

• books of all genres

• kids toys in working order

Other Key Points

1. MOTHs Paid Subscribers, please use your discount code provided in our latest newsletter to receive your discount as a way of thanks for supporting MOTHS.

2. Kids are free

3. There's no need to stay for the whole event. Come early and leave early if you need. Come later and stay later is also cool.

4. The swap is based on items. You don't need to swap like for like (i.e. a toy for a toy or book for a book. You can swap a book for a skirt or a skirt for a toy).

5. This is organised and run by volunteers. If you can lend a hand, we'd be really grateful.

A little heads up for our lovely community: there is the option of adding a donation to MOTHs at the checkout. Donations made through Humanitix at checkout do incur platform and processing fees. Sorry about that, but that's not us.
