Everyone wants to be recognised and rewarded when they do good work.

But the wrong type of recognition can be a real de-motivator and can actually result in poorer future performance, because it's perceived as punishment. And reward doesn't have to relate to salary, either!

RECOGNITION: 44% of people cite being recognised (also known as being thanked) for work well done as a key motivator. But if you recognise people in a way that's contrary to their needs, you risk them feeling punished.

REWARD: Dan Pink calls it a "surprising truth;" research that shows money, as a reward, is actually a dis-incentive, in most settings. Find what people really value and you'll know exactly how to reward them.

NEEDS-BASED: There's no one-size-fits-all approach to recognition and reward. It has to be tailored to meet the behavioural drives and needs of the person, if you want it to motivate and inspire peak performance.

THE SCIENCE: The art and skill of motivating and inspiring people is dramatically enhanced by the addition of behavioural science. Science, and a tailored approach to recognition and reward is a real game-changer.

Our Needs-Based Recognition and Reward workshop is the final workshop of the 2024 Heartwired Leadership Masterclass Series, where the art of leadership meets the science of human data analytics to lift your leadership skills to the next level.

Who should attend?

This Masterclass is designed for Managers, MDs, CEOs, and business owners who want to engage, motivate and inspire team members to give more discretionary effort and remain longer in the business.

Why should you attend?

Recognition can be motivating or de-motivating. The challenge is knowing what kind of recognition each person needs (not just prefers), so you don't get it wrong
People who feel valued and appropriately recognised are more engaged, more productive, and easier to retain, without you having to throw money at them
It's easy to cite higher salaries as the primary motivator for someone to jump ship. But the truth is, they would never consider jumping if they felt recognised and rewarded in a way that has deep personal meaning and value.

What will you learn and take away?

How to tell which method of recognition will work best for each individual
How to tailor recognition to suit each individual's needs
A raft of ideas to replace salary increases as a primary motivator
The surprising truth about what really motivates us as humans
The latest research about what today's workforce really values and makes employment and tenure decisions around.

Investment: $295 + GST per workshop.
