Motu Of Western Sydney
Event description
Motu of Western Sydney is a Pacific cultural arts and theatre production that follows the journey of two Pasifika youth from opposite ends of the tracks in Western Sydney. They are at a loss of direction in a COVID era and when all is seemingly derailed — the Ancestors arrive to protect them. The Ancestors unleash new and old Pasifika stories of resilience to inspire their navigation through the future, by reminding them of their inherent value within and the rich Pasifika cultures that run through them. Featuring popular music artists — Bina Butta, STNDRD, as well as MC Trey. Don't miss this opportunity to experience Pacific Islands stories of Western Sydney!
Motu of Western Sydney is produced by Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts in partnership with Pelesasa Pics. The cast of the production will be Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts students and tutors; Pelesasa Pics members; and Sydney based dance groups, choirs, local artists and community groups. The doors will open at 6:30pm, and the production will begin at 7:30pm. The event is wheelchair accessible, and welcome to all.
