Motueka Community Film Circle - The New Peasants
Event description
The Motueka Community Film Circle is excited to bring you the latest feature from Happen Films, The New Peasants.
The New Peasants won 'Best Environmental Documentary' at The Melbourne Documentary Festival earlier this year.
The film will be followed by a Q & A with the producer, Antoinette, and a Zoom interview with the main 'stars' of the film.
Let's sink together into the world of Meg, Patrick, Zephyr, and Woody—who for two decades have chosen to step away from modern industrial culture to live a radically simple, sustainable, and intentional life. The film offers a moving glimpse into the challenges and joys of their daily lives and highlights how transformative change can begin at home and in community, and that each of us has a role to play in creating a better future.
This film feeds into our own journeys of community building & resilience and is perfect fuel for a discussion around future resilience.
"A gorgeous film about wealth, just not the kind you may expect. The nobility of peasantry is in full effect throughout this lovingly crafted work. Brave, funny, kind, proper. Amen to the handmade life!"
