    Event description

Praise Cheeses: Mould – Australia’s biggest cheese festival is back in 2023

Showcasing over 100 varieties of the very best in local artisan cheese from around the country, there’s a fromage to suit every palate at this year’s Australia-wide Mould celebrations. The free-wheeling event championing Australian-made cheese, and the community that surrounds it, returns to Sydney as part of this year’s Mould events tour.

Since 2017, Mould Cheese Festival has delivered brie-lliant tasting experiences across Australian, celebrating homegrown cheeses from the textured and earthy, to raw milk varieties, and everything in between. The event is presented by Revel (the same team behind Pinot Palooza) in partnership with Dairy Australia. Last year, Mould punters enjoyed a mammoth one-million samples across three cities and took home over 6 tonnes of quality Australian cheese.

Cementing an insatiable appetite for fine cheese across all major cities, Mould is excited to come back bigger, more matured, and smellier than ever, presenting an aromatic line-up of over 27 cheese producers, including a special selection of festival-only varieties – called the Grate Cheese Commission – created exclusively for the festival.

Tickets are $49 +BF and include all tastings and a complimentary cooler bag for keeping cheese at the perfect temp once purchased from your favourite producers on the day.

Set your mind at cheese, and vote in real-time using a QR code for your favourite mouldy flavour of the festival. Submissions for the People’s Choice Award puts punters in the running to win one of ten 12-month subscriptions to the Mould Collective – ensuring cheesy goodness all year round, delivered straight to your doorstep.

Expect other dairy-driven additions and matched pairings on the day such as olives, butter and smallgoods, as well as a myriad of cheese-focused dishes from a range of local cheesemongers and chefs. In between samples, grab a tipple from the Mould bar, featuring Hartshorn Sheep Whey vodka and gin, and plenty of wine to wash down each bite. A selection of beer, cider, cocktails and sake will also be on offer.

    TICKETING FAQ's

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes please. As alcohol is at the event, you must be over 18 to attend. Please bring a valid form of identification with you on the day just to be sure (Passport or driving license).

Are children permitted at the event?

This is always a tough one. Whilst the answer is a non discriminatory ‘yes’, our events are often very busy, loud and a little hectic so not an ideal place for little people. We suggest getting a baby sitter and having the day off. We’ll bring the wine.

Will tickets be available on the door?

Only if there are any available. But more often than not, ‘no’ as the events sell out prior. We cap numbers to ensure everyone has a great time and it’s not too crazy as we want you coming back. We strongly suggest buying tickets prior to ensure you don’t miss out.

    Is there a refund policy?

Refunds are not available for this event.

I haven’t received my ticket? What do I do?

An automated email is sent upon purchasing tickets. If you don’t receive it, it could be for a couple of reasons. Firstly, check the spam folder as sometimes they get stuck there. Other times, when in a rush to purchase (!), some accidentally enter their email address incorrectly. If that’s the case, drop us an email and we’ll search and resend. But all good, you’ll be in our system.

Do I need to print the tickets?

Nope! You can show your ticket on your phone.

    Are dogs allowed?

Nope sorry! We love our furry friends but it is best to leave them at home.

    Do kids need tickets

Nope! All children under the age of 17 are free however they must be accompanied by and adult at all times.

    Tasting, not drinking

Creating a safe, welcoming and non-intimidating event environment is what we’re all about so any inappropriate behaviour, of an intoxicated nature or not, that is dangerous to yourself and or others, is just not acceptable.

We have a strict ‘no tolerance’ policy so if we witness any of the above, we reserve the right to take appropriate action and have you removed from the venue.

I’ve got a couple of other random questions, what should I do?

Easy. Drop us an email at hello@mouldcheesefestival.com and we’ll get right back to you.
