Mount Helen - Permablitz - May 2024
Event description
Ballarat Permaculture Guild is doing another Permablitz!
Our host, Gwen has a largish garden that she would like to make more wildlife friendly, as well as some help rejuvenating the existing areas.
Tasks on the day will include:
- Construction of a wildlife garden, including a bathtub pond, frog hotels, and some bird friendly shrubs.
- Planting a number of screening trees
- Weeding and tiding up the existing garden beds
- Construction of a composting area, for both garden and household waste.
- General maintenance and repair of some well-used wicking beds
Lunch and refreshments will be provided by the host, so registration is essential for catering purposes.
PermaBlitz is about people helping people, learning skills and seeing permaculture designs in action. Don't know what a PermaBlitz is and if it is for you? Watch this video from Gardening Australia with the awesome Hannah running one in Tasmania:
