Mountaingrass Festival 2026

Mountaingrass is presented by the Australasian Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association (ABOTMA).

Mountaingrass is held yearly in November. The 2026 festival runs from Friday, 13 to Sunday, 15 November. Concerts, workshops and jam sessions are held at:

• Bright Community Centre, 1 Railway Avenue, Bright, Victoria;

• Bright Senior Citizens Centre, 10 Cobden Street, Bright, Victoria; and

• Bright Old Courthouse Theatre, 1-3 Park Street, Bright, Victoria

All three venues are a stone's throw away from each other!

Mountaingrass is a weekend devoted to the playing and performance of Bluegrass and Appalachian Old Time music.  The festival features concerts, workshops, slow & medium paced jam sessions, curated intimate acoustic only concerts, a walk-up blackboard stage and a gospel concert on Sunday morning. There are luthier / instrument maker displays and sales, and lots of opportunities to play and share through jamming and picking sessions. 

ABOTMA is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion and performance of bluegrass and old-time music in Australasia. The festival is organised by volunteers for members of ABOTMA and all lovers of bluegrass and old time music.

Note: An individual membership entitles you to buy either one discounted weekend ticket or one discounted ticket for each day of the festival you wish to attend.

Weekend Tickets:  Enter the Member Number into the "discount or access code" field in Humanitix to see the hidden Member discount weekend tickets.

Day Tickets:  Enter the Member Email into the "discount or access code" field in Humanitix to see the hidden Member discount day tickets.  

If you want to purchase tickets for another ABOTMA member you will need to enter their Member Number or Member Email in the access code field in Humanitix to purchase their allocated member discount ticket(s).
