Moussa Diakité & Marlin Sylla *LIVE* at the Ace Hotel Sydney w/ DJ Loraio

This winter, the Australian not-for-profit record label Music in Exile will bring us sounds from all corners of this city to warm our hearts and keep the winter chill away. 

In a monthly residency starting Wednesday 12 June, the label, which supports Australian artists with lived experience of migration and displacement, will present a midweek showcase of culturally and linguistically diverse artists that are changing the face of Australian music. 

Join us for the first instalment this June with the amazing Moussa Diakité, a legend of the West African guitar sound and known for performing with his band Wassado here in Australia.

Moussa will be joined by kora player Marlin Sylla for a duet in the Lobby on Wednesday evening from 6pm. Expect tranquil, peaceful sounds mixed with some serious shredding, akin to Ali Farka Touré, Toumani Diabaté and more. 

For DJ selections throughout the evening expect more fire from local fave Lorario, who danced our heels raw at the Music in Exile takeover of Cafe Freda’s last month.
