• About the workshop: 

Get moving and have fun making and performing your own unique dances with a big person! This workshop focuses on how kids and parents can connect together through dance. Together we'll gently explore what makes us move - using our imagination to create, make and perform our own choreography. 

This open access workshop is aimed at introducing kids and adults to ways we can connect and play together. The skills are focused on promoting confidence, teamwork, imagination and self-expression in a safe and supportive creative environment.

We recommend parents join in with kids and embrace learning with them! Throughout the workshop you are welcome to watch or participate, come and go as you need, and you will only be working with your own little person.

Delivered by dance-theatre maker, puppeteer and teaching artist Bella Young, this workshop is open to lower primary aged participants and their parents, with a suggested child age range of approximately 5 - 9 years.

• About the facilitator: 

Bella is a performing artist based between Cork, Ireland and lutruwita [Tasmania], Australia. Bella is Youth Advisory Officer on the board of RANT Arts (https://www.rantarts.com/board) and works as a puppeteer with Terrapin Puppet Theatre (https://terrapin.org.au/), and previously as a theatre-maker with Second Echo Ensemble (https://secondechoensemble.org/). She works predominantly as a puppeteer, actor, teacher and physical theatre performer. Expect lots of energy, movement, music, and reflection.
