MOVED is a mindful dance practice to support healthy living.

Dancing to music mixed like a dj but guided like a class, you are free to move how ever you wish and encouraged to increase that freedom each time you dance. The practice is led by an Open Floor teacher following the OF movement cycle that rises and falls, reciprocating cycles found in life and nature.

Open Floor is a resource based movement practice. We explore new ways of dancing and responding to what is happening in our world with intention and purpose. We learn to understand our habits and patterns for deeper insight and self awareness. The more we embody different responses in our movements, the more resources we can call on to move through life with flexibility, resilience and ease.

The aim is to MOVE physically, emotionally, cognitively and spiritually on the dance floor.

The facilitator mixes anything and everything, from classical and rock to tribal and dance, its not about the music but it sure does help! Playing a cross section of music inspires different movements and feelings, it includes everyone on the dance floor and broadens our tolerance of our rich and diverse community.

Dancing mid week fills our cup, we dance for release, healing, pleasure and grounding but most of all because it reminds us of who we are, and that can not be written or spoken, it must be felt.

Open Floor is an international school of dance movement with teachers across the globe, the teachings evolve to support the ever changing needs of humanity.

Doors open 6:15pm, this is precious warm up time, lovely music will help you settle into the space.

Doors close at 6:30pm no entry after then, guidance begins setting the evenings movement resource.

Dance until 8:00pm when we slow to a closing circle taking us to 8:15

Entry: $25 + Booking fee

Cancellation & Event Guidelines

Refunds or ticket transfers to another event can be requested up to 24 hours before the event. After this time, tickets may be transferred to a friend by the ticket holder.

This is an alcohol-free, drug-free, and smoke-free event. Management reserves the right to refuse entry to ensure the safety and integrity of the space.

We invite full presence on the dance floor — no mobile phones, photography, or Shazam. Please arrive ready to be here, just as others are.

This is a barefoot, non-verbal dance space. No shoes and no talking on the dance floor. We gather because we love to dance, to listen, and to move together.

This event is not suitable for kids, (18+)

First Time at Dancing Dhevas?

Dancing Dhevas is a free-form conscious dance practice that invites you to move as only you can — with authenticity, curiosity, and freedom. It’s an opportunity to let go of judgement and discover a dance that is uniquely yours, one that can’t be copied or performed.

Conscious dance is an active meditation. As each person drops into their own movement, the room shifts — energy builds, barriers soften, and natural ecstasy emerges. There’s no right or wrong way to dance, only presence.

Come as you are, or bring a friend. We share the floor with like-minded souls, moving together and celebrating life in all its complexity, moment by moment.

What to know:

Bring a water bottle
We dance barefoot to ground and connect with the body
No talking on the dance floor — if you need to speak, please step outside the hall
