This event has passed Get tickets

    Event description

This is a workshop for actors at all stages of their career who want to connect with their bodies and explore how they might better use them in creating characters and storytelling. Using exercises from the worlds of physical theatre, clown, improvisation and theatre-making, you’ll develop an awareness of your unique physicality and explore tools to use this in your own practice.

Come ready to move and play, with water and comfortable clothes. There will be a little bit of laughing too.

    10am-12pm, Thursday 18 April 2024

North Perth Lesser Hall, 24 View St, North Perth WA 6006

    $30 per person.

James Hancox is an actor, writer, theatre-maker and ‘master of physical theatre’ (Fringefeed) - whose solo work blends theatre and comedy and has toured festivals around the world. For over 20 years, he has lead performance workshops for all ages and abilities: beginning as a college lecturer in the UK, then moving into primary education, then secondary, before offering independent workshops to a wide range of students, artists, groups and institutions. Relocating to Western Australia in 2019, he has worked with WAAPA, Perth Youth Theatre, The Australian Institute of Theatresports and many other schools.

Applying techniques and exercises developed through his own theatre-making practice, he aims to create an environment where participants can explore their creativity and voice through movement, character, improvisation and devising.
