Who are your hosts for the retreat?

Nicole Deen

Nicole Deen is the Co-Founder and Director of Mama Connect and a passionate advocate for mothers in all our diversity. Nicole became mum to one delightful daughter in 2015 and has called Canberra home since 2019. She is a skilled facilitator and coach, having certifications in both Life Coaching for mothers and Executive Coaching through the Mama Rising© Facilitator Training and the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership. With a background working in international and community development, she has always focused on meeting people where they’re at in life and accompanying them on where they want to go. She is excited to now bring her varied life experiences and passion into directly supporting mothers as they make one of the most (if not THE most) biggest transformations of their lives.

Joanna Bencke is the Founder of Bump and Birth Yoga, a mum of three beautiful children, works part-time in a public and environmental health research role, and has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. She studied her first yoga teacher training at an ashram in India and consolidated her training by studying Dru Yoga in Wales, UK. She has completed postgraduate yoga teacher training courses in meditation, dance and yoga for kids and teens. Joanna loves teaching yoga to all ages and abilities, but her real interest lies in prenatal yoga and yoga for women’s health. She has completed Dru Prenatal and Postnatal Teacher Training courses, Yoga for Pregnancy and Birth and Yoga for Postnatal and Infants courses by Samadhi Yoga. She recently completed a Fertility Yoga course, a Pregnancy Thai Yoga Massage course and is currently studying Restorative Yoga. Joanna is passionate about all things health and wellbeing, and wants to share knowledge, tools and techniques to support and empower women physically, emotionally and mentally to become masters of their own lives, births and motherhood.

NOTE: The details for this retreat have changed since the original posting - We are now offering the same retreat on 2 separate days (rather than 2 sessions that connect) to make it easier for people to attend the day that suits them best.
