Hey Moving On people !

After the success of our first Moving On... from Monogamy workshop, we're super keen to facilitate version two before we all let loose for end of year holiday parties! Please join us once again at the amazing Micro-Labs Melbourne community space for another safe, queer-centred, inclusive and immersive workshop, as we take a deeper dive into what it means to Move On... from Monogamy, 2.0!

This workshop is suitable for anyone aged 18+ years, irrespective of your relationship status, and has been curated for people of diverse sexual and gender identities.

If you've stumbled upon us and did not attend our initial 'Moving On... from Monogamy' workshop last month, no stress! You are so welcome to come along - we will catch you up and make sure you feel right at home! Most of us are raised to believe that long-term, romantic relationships should be monogamous, and that life is safest and happiest with one, exclusive life partner. We are taught to believe, and conditioned by society, that this is the "natural" and "preferred" order of things - that for the health of social and family cohesion, humans should be committed to monogamy. We are given examples from the wild of loving life partners - penguins, swans and geese. In reality, less than 5% of mammal species are monogamous... and traditionally, that included humans! Monogamy should be thought of as 'one of many ways' to experience intimacy. Other forms of ethical, queer relationships are just as healthy and valid. Sexual, romantic and emotional desire, attraction, intimacy and love should be consensual, safe, imaginative and expansive!

Moving from the theoretical to the practical and theatrical, let's discover the healthy possibilities that exist in exploring different types of consensual, intimate relationships. We invite you to:

Re-think the conversation;
Re-write the narrative;
Invite radical honesty and ethics into your relationship... it's more erotic and sensual than you may think.

Through world vision building, we'll discover what genuine progressive change looks and feels like - we cannot be what we cannot see. In this version 2.0, we dive into activities that will explore ethical and consensual non-monogamous topics such as emotional connection and communication, desire and attraction, jealousy, sharing, capacity and readiness levels, threesomes, foursomes and moresomes. For those of you who want to put pen to paper, change up the dynamics of your love life and turn your thoughts and fantasies into realities, this is the event for you. Let’s be radical and challenge the social orthodoxy together!

Holiday / party themed, so feel free to dress in party vibes (but totally no pressure to dress up, either). We recommend having some eats beforehand. You are super welcome to bring your own food and drinks, too. We will provide some snacks and drinks. This is a safe, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, neurodiverse friendly event. We do not tolerate any kind of disrespectful behaviour.
