MOZART'S SISTER - FILM
Wednesday 25 June, 7.30-9.15pm
Cinema TBC

ARCO is excited to present the award-winning film MOZART’S SISTER as part of its activities in Bundaberg. For the first 16 years of her life, Mozart’s sister shared equal billing with her brother. Musical partners and collaborators, Wolfgang Mozart and Maria-Anna Mozart played together before Kings and Queens, and were the talk of Europe. But what happened to her? Forced to withdraw from public life because she was a woman, a stunning new investigation explores why she was retired and what happened to her music. From multi-awarded Director/Producer Madeleine Hetherton-Miau and Producer Rebecca Barry, MOZART’S SISTER is a ‘musical-mystery’ story that explores the lost talent of Maria-Anna Mozart.

VOYAGE OF MUSICAL DISCOVERY - MUSIC TALK
Thursday 26 June, 10.00-11.30am
St Luke's Performing Arts Centre, Kalkie

Dive into the stories, instruments and music of Mozart's Clarinet Quintet and Peter Sculthorpe's Jabiru Dreaming string quartet! The Voyage is part concert and part demonstration, and is a unique way to explore music from the past and present in a new light. Discover the links and similarities between old and new music and how it is created in this entertaining music talk by ARCO's co-artistic directors and musicians. Casual - bring a cuppa and questions!

MOZART'S CLARINET - CONCERT
Thursday 26 June, 7.00-8.15pm
St Luke's Performing Arts Centre, Kalkie

The concert will open with a special guest performance by Bundaberg Youth Orchestra.
Emilie Mayer (1812–1883) String Quartet No.1 in G minor, Op.14
Schubert (1797–1828) String Quartet No.7 in D major, D.94
Mozart (1756–1791) Clarinet Quintet in A major, K.581

Dancing strings, lilting clarinet – the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra returns to Bundaberg with sparkling chamber music from three brilliant composers. MOZART'S CLARINET soars from joyful Schubert to the freshness of female composer Emilie Mayer and one of music’s best-loved pieces: Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, played on a rare historical basset clarinet.

Hear some of Australia’s best musicians, and meet them up close over Talk&Tea.

Bask in the luminous sonorities of historical clarinet, violin, viola and cello. Feel your heart sing. Experience MOZART'S CLARINET.

TALK&TEA (8.15-9.00pm)

Talk&Tea is your chance to meet our musicians (and their beautiful historic instruments) up close! Held just after the concert, with drinks available, Talk&Tea is an informal session where you can learn a bit about the program, ask questions and chat with us and your fellow audience members! And it’s completely free.
